khalid live at allianz

On Wednesday, June 10th, 2026, Khalid performed the 15th show of his headlining tour: It's Always Summer Somewhere. The high energy show took place at Allianz Amphitheater in Richmond, Virginia with support from New York R&B duo, Lionbabe.

Khalid, who is from El Paso, TX, has headlined four tours in the past, with the last being in 2019. It’s Always Summer Somewhere is his first headlining tour in six years. On-stage, he was joined by energetic and talented dancers Allie Giroux, Ivy Fijal, Siah Helise, and Syera Syntyche, who flaunted perfectly upbeat choreography.

The stage was filled with visuals and magical, dynamic lighting. Khalid emerged on a shipping container and was immediately met with loud roars and cheering from the crowd and started off his show with “Motion” from his Suncity EP, which had a mellow R&B sound that really blended with his smooth vocals. He went on to sing many more songs including some of his biggest hits. Fans went wild as he belted out “8TEEN,” “Better,” and "Location.” The nostalgia of these songs sent a wave of singing, dancing, and cheering throughout the crowd as they recalled the feelings and memories they brought back. Khalid also performed an assortment of collaborations that he has worked on over the years such as “Lovely” (Billie Eilish), “Eastside" (Benny Blanco and Halsey), and "Talk” (Disclosure). Khalid also sang a smooth rendition of a “Fast Car,” a Tracy Chapman cover that had everyone singing along and some listening in awe.

Throughout the show fans were met with smiles, waves, and fun interactions by Khalid. He maintained an energetic and fun atmosphere throughout the evening. Fans that attended his meet and greet were brought out on stage and had a song dedicated to them. At one point during his performance, Khalid stopped mid-song to tell the crowd, “I like that energy, man!” He seems to want to make sure that everyone feels involved and happy at the show.

During his performance of Vertigo, a big bug decided to take the stage and fly into him as he was walking down the steps. He jokingly told the crowd that the bug was “taking a try at his life” as he almost fell, but then regained composure and continued to sing. As the show came to a close, Khalid exited as the drum was beating and his dancers were encouraging the crowd to chant “one more song.” He then came back out and performed the 2017/18 teen anthem “Young, Dumb and Broke” as an encore.

There are many fans, like myself, who grew up with his music and there are fans just discovering him who can all relate to the situations he sings about. Khalid expertly mixes his vocal talents with his ability to relate to the life stages of those who listen to him making his show enjoyable for all ages. Khalid’s energy and bubbly persona makes for a great show.
