Psychedelic Porn Crumpets Make Their Triumphant Return to Columbus, Ohio on 9/24/2026

From the moment Psychedelic Porn Crumpets took the stage of Newport Music Hall, the fans that filled the room were eager to match their energy. With instruments raised in the air as members took their places, the crowd was a buzz of excitement; cheers roared through the venue, and fan-made posters glowed from the stage lights. Everyone in the room was more than ready to make this a night to remember. 

Kicking off the night strong with “Salsa Verde,” PPC immediately displayed the sound they are known for. Energetic, funky guitar riffs, drums that pound in your ears, and strong vocals that you can’t help but sing along to; and the crowd understood the assignment. Mosh pits started almost immediately and rarely quit for the entirety of the show, as the packed fifteen-song setlist allowed little to no time for the energy to waver. 

Formed in Perth in 2014, the Australian psychedelic rock band is currently powered by members Jack McEwan (lead vocals/guitar), Luke Parish (lead guitar/synthesizer/backing vocals), Danny Caddy (drums), Chris Young (guitar/keyboards) and Jamie Reynolds (bass guitar). After over eight album releases and nearly twelve years of making music, they have successfully made a name for themselves and their unique sound worldwide.

Although the stage design was rather simple this tour, with the members scattered throughout the stage, some placed on raised platforms in the back, the energy from the members and the crowd throughout the night made it feel spectacular. All night long it was a constant back-and-forth energy exchange; the crowd would go crazy, and PPC would give it right back. 

Nearing the halfway point in the set, PPC rewarded the crowd with two fan favorites back to back. “Found God in a Tomato” came first and was an exceptional performance of the night. From the first iconic riff, the band’s talent was left on full display and despite it being a nearly nine-minute-long song, it had fans in a trance down to the very last second and through every tempo change. “Cornflake” quickly followed, allowing no time for any excitement in the room to die down. The electrifying song was beautifully performed, starting off with its heavy guitars and quickly shifting to delicate instrumentals and vocals, right back to the heavy upbeat tempo. 

As the show came to an end with the final notes of “Hymn for a Droid” ringing through the venue, the performance Psychedelic Porn Crumpets gave was one Columbus will remember. It was proof that the psychedelic rock sound they are known for not only shows in their sound, but especially in their relentless, energetic performances that you can’t help but headbang along to.
