SHE’s GREEN

Ending a string of September dates touring across the U.S., indie-rock band “She’s Green” brought their ethereal, “moss-y” sound from Minneapolis, MN to Empty Bottle in Chicago, IL on 9/24/2025 for a night of beautiful live performances. This was the kind of night that gives you everything you want and more when it comes to lush sounds, raw energy, and live accompaniments.

Their opener, “Daarling”, a Chicago-based 3-piece indie rock band, took to the stage with an incredible welcome from the crowd. Playing hits from their EP, “Arrangements to Change” as well as some unreleased tracks, it was clear that Erin Lyle (vocalist, bass, songwriter), Andrew Bess (guitarist, writer), and Rob Kristan (drummer) were more than comfortable making the stage their own. Having played together for over 5 years now, their electric chemistry on stage is no surprise. Mixing soft, melodic rhythms and bursts of intensity, “Daarling” set a strong foundation for what “She’s Green” would bring next.

As the lights shifted from vibrant color to dark, muted, and mysterious earthy hues, anticipation buzzed through the room. She’s Green walked out to a roar of excitement as Zofia Smith (vocalist), Liam Armstrong and Raines Lucas (guitarists), Teddy Nordvold (bassist), and Kevin Seebeck (drummer) took to the stage. The Empty Bottle’s intimate stage setting allowed fans to be up close and personal with the artists as they jammed out, catching every riff up close.

Between the low back light, and gentle fog that rolled over the stage, the mood was set perfectly in between engaging and enchanting. Their set was a blend of the new and the familiar, spotlighting tracks from their latest EP, Chrysalis, alongside gems from earlier releases.

By the end of the night, it was clear this show wasn’t just another stop on tour, but rather a reminder of what makes both the band and the Chicago music scene so special. Fans cheered She’s Green off of the stage talking about their favorite moments and carrying that lingering thrill you can only get from a truly memorable live set. If She’s Green’s latest work is any indication, this is just the beginning of something even bigger, and Chicago was lucky enough to catch it up close.
