The Home Team

Irving Plaza 11/21

The Home Team were nothing but radiant smiles and electric intensity for their show this weekend at Irving Plaza. On November 21st the room completely transformed for The Crucible of Life Tour. The stage, adorned in large medieval vases and their iconic illustrations from the album artwork made fans feel as if they were dropped right into a total sensory rush for the evening.

The sold out show in New York City brought nothing but high spirits and palpable positivity. The entire band was completely energized throughout the set, jumping and dancing, fully in their element. The Home Team began their show with an explosive trio of adrenaline, “Turn You Off”, “Brag”, and “Hell”. Giving no time for downtime, the band powered through the show, never letting the momentum die.

Spanning just November and December, The Crucible of Life Tour is jam-packed full of cities all over the US for their first headlining run. The Plaza, however, was exceptionally special. Fans truly made the night a bonding experience as they sang their hearts out and crowdsurfed towards the stage, all reveling in frontman Brian Butcher’s incredible voice.

The rest of the band had infectious energy, Ryne Olson (bass) and John Baran (guitar) dancing together and taking turns shredding their solos, and drummer Daniel Matson locking in the heartbeat of the entire show. The immersion didn't just stop with their set design though, as the lights were designed to match each song, bathing the room in green light for “Watching All Your Friends Get Rich”, and bringing out special guest Andy Cizek for “Somebody Else's Face”.

With a stacked setlist of 20 songs, only once did the band take a break before returning to the stage for highly anticipated fan favorites. Closing out the set with “Loud”, “Danger”, and “Worthy” had Irving Plaza’s volume cranked to its limit. The Home Team was clearly adored in New York City this evening, and their return was instantly in demand.
